SR-22 Insurance

SR-22 INSURANCE

What is an SR22 and how do I know if I need one?

An SR22 is not insurance, but you do need auto insurance to get one. An SR22 is a form which is required by the state of Arizona to prove that you carry a specific type of insurance. This is minimum liability limits.

You need an SR22 if the motor vehicle department tells you that you need it. You will usually need an SR22 if you get stopped for driving without auto insurance, had your driver’s license suspended or revoked or had a lot of moving violations or DUI

Does an SR22 cost extra money?

Not usually.  Most of the 20 plus auto insurance companies that UNO AUTO INSURANCE writes for do not charge extra for the SR22 form, but you do have to carry auto insurance.

How long do I have to have an SR22 for?

You must have an SR22 for three years.

What if I do not have a car, do I still need an SR22?

Yes. You can get a non owners auto insurance policy.

What happens if I do not have an SR22 and the motor vehicle department states that I should?

Your drivers’ license will be instantly suspended or revoked and you will have to pay a fine.

What happens if my auto insurance gets cancelled or if I do not renew or replace the auto insurance?

The same as above. Your drivers’ license will be suspended or revoked.
